SUMMARY: The Fine Jewelry Manager will oversee the daily functions of the Jewelry department to ensure business and auction/catalog production goals and deadlines are met in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner. 
  • Interface with remote offices, Consignment Directors and Category Director, as well as supporting departments such as Operations, Photography, Marketing/PR, Print Shop, IT and Shipping
  • Provide direct oversight  for jewelry catalogers in all offices, including setting goals and supervising production output to meet deadlines
  • Ensure established SOPs are being followed across the department
  • Maintain shared Master department calendar of travel, events, ad and production deadlines
  • Prepare agenda and facilitate weekly team phone conference meetings
  • Monitor Client Services issues and inquiries for prompt resolution
  • Oversee all aspects of auction/catalog production cycle including tracking specific marketing and catalog cover promises, coordinating and reviewing ads/ brochures/ featured lots/ Property tags/ emails/ beauty shots, and assisting with text and image proofing
  • Assist with coordinating regional special events, auction previews, trade shows, sponsorships, etc.
  • 5+ years Management experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Jewelry industry knowledge and experience is a plus
  • Works well in a high pressure, high production environment
  • Exceptional prioritization and organizational skills with specific attention to meeting deadlines and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Special focus on staff development
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, specifically Word and Excel
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Individual must be able to work independently and manage productivity to meet tight turnaround deadlines.
