Heritage Auctions, a well-established auction house with over 30 years of longevity, is expanding and hiring in our regional office's (CA, Dallas, and NY)  to meet growing business needs. We are seeking ambitious candidates who will bring their excellent reputation, business ethics, strong work ethic, organizational skills, and knowledge to represent Heritage in the best light.
 
SUMMARY: Responsible for building relationships and providing specialist opinion for authenticating on all aspects of vetting of conditions and properties consigned. 
 
Trusts & Estates Responsibilities
  • Pursue new contacts of estate attorneys, divorce attorneys, financial planners, wealth managers and CPAs regionally and nationally.
  • Call/email existing T&E contacts for re-introduction to Heritage’s appraisal and auction services.  Update address/firm changes regularly.
  • Available for estate inquiry assessments/evaluations.  Do estate/collection walkthroughs to determine Heritage’s interest and work with CDs for estimates/consignments.
  • Legal, Trust Company or Banking work experience preferable – with some knowledge of fine/decorative arts and collectibles.
  • Work with Appraisal Services Department on T&E contact appraisals.
  • Work with the T&E team nationally in building relationships and pursuing business (includes exhibiting at conferences and providing presentations to industry organizations).
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degrees required, Master’s degree preferred; 5+ years experience as a commercial dealer and/or in a major auction house working environment with focus in Trust & Estates; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Must be highly proficient in basic Microsoft applications, specifically Word and Excel; have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written); high ability to multitask; pay great attention to detail; have a positive attitude with exceptional customer service skills. 
  • Self-motivation and strong work ethic
  • Ability to follow set standards, take direction and work well with colleagues
  • Ability to analyze and propose client solutions – taking ownership of consignments and appraisals from first contact to final settlement/invoice.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-project, and dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication skills: written and verbal
